General Terms and Conditions of Bansko Bike Fest

1. Association details
These General Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Association „Bansko Bike Fest“, EIC 208810257, registered in the Republic of Bulgaria as a non-profit legal entity, with its seat and management address: Bulgaria, Bansko (2770), 2 Stragite Street, represented by Martin Angelinin (hereinafter referred to as the „Association“ or the „Organiser“), and the participants/clients using the website banskobikefest.com — for registering for events within the festival Bansko Bike Fest and/or for the purchase of physical Goods.
The association Not registered under VAT Act. The advertised prices are final and not subject to VAT.
The present General Terms and Conditions cover:
- Registration for Festival events and e-ticketing;
- Sales, delivery, returns and refunds for physical goods (merchandise);
- Rights and responsibilities of participants during and after purchase.
By accepting these Terms and Conditions upon registration and/or placing an order, the Customer confirms that they have read and agree to them.
Nothing in these General Terms and Conditions restricts or excludes the rights of consumers granted to them by applicable Bulgarian and European legislation.

2. Scope and Definitions
- „Festival“ signifies the annual Bansko Bike Fest event, organised by the Association in the town of Bansko, with dates announced on the website.
- „Event“ means a separate activity within the Festival, including, but not limited to: Bike rally, Gourmet tour (Avramovo, Tasty Bansko), Road tour, Gravel tour, Bike Academy (Enduro, Cross-country, E-MTB), Children's events, Bike test and Expo zone.
- „Ticket or Registration“ meaning an electronic document which confirms the registration of a specific participant for a specific Event on a specific date.
- „Stock or Merch“ means a physical product offered for sale through the website (t-shirts, hats, and other branded Festival items).
- „Order“ means any successfully completed purchase through the site, which may contain Tickets, Merchandise or a combination thereof.
- „Participant“ / „Client“ means a natural person who has placed an Order and/or physically participated in an Event.
3. Orders and Payment
- Registration for Events and/or ordering of Goods is carried out online through the website. banskobikefest.com or through other official channels specified by the Organiser.
- Prices are quoted in Euros (EUR) and are final. The association is not registered for VAT and does not charge VAT.
- Bank card payments are processed through a payment operator myPOS (myPOS Checkout). The association does not store full payment card details. Payment is made securely via the payment operator's page.
- Upon successful payment, the Customer will receive an email confirmation, which includes: an e-ticket for the Event (if applicable), an order confirmation for Goods (if applicable), an order number, and the total amount.
- The customer is responsible for entering a correct email address and personal details required for ticket issuance, accreditation, delivery of Goods, and communication in relation to the Order.
- On-site check-in takes place at the Festival reception (Vazrazhdane Square, Bansko) during the announced hours. Upon check-in, the Participant receives a starting number and/or an information pack depending on the respective Event, as well as any ordered Goods.
3.1 Discounts for multiple registrations
The Association may offer discounts when the same person registers for more than one Event, in accordance with the rules published on the website (for example: 2 registrations — 10% discount; 3 registrations — 20% discount). Discounts are applied automatically at the time of booking, provided the relevant conditions are met. The Association reserves the right to amend, extend or terminate promotions in accordance with applicable legislation.
4. Ticket Policy
4.1 Nature of Tickets
All tickets are issued digitally and represent a limited, revocable license for a specific person to attend a specific Event on the announced date and at the announced location. Tickets do not represent proprietary rights or ownership.
4.2 Validity
Tickets are only valid for the specific Event, date and time indicated in the confirmation. The programme, start times and routes are subject to change in compliance with applicable legislation and with the reasonable discretion of the Organiser. The current programme will be announced on banskobikefest.com.
Ticket prices are announced on the official website and are subject to change. Promotions and special offers, if any, will be published on the website.
4.3 No-Refund Policy
All ticket purchases are final. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, tickets are non-refundable, non-cancellable, and non-exchangeable once purchased, unless mandatory consumer provisions or Section 6 of these Terms and Conditions dictate otherwise.
4.4 Non-transferability
Tickets are strictly personal and non-transferable. Any attempt to transfer, resell, assign, or otherwise dispose of a ticket without the Organiser's prior written consent may result in immediate invalidation of the ticket without refund or compensation, unless otherwise required by applicable law. Upon check-in, the Organiser may require identification to verify the participant.
4.5 Loss, theft or unauthorised use
The association is not responsible for lost, stolen, duplicated, or used without permission tickets, starting numbers, or accreditations. The risk of loss passes to the participant from the moment of issue. Participants are responsible for the safekeeping of their tickets and accessible credentials.
4.6 Changes, Postponement, and Cancellation of Events; Force Majeure
For the purposes of these General Terms and Conditions, „force majeure“ shall mean events beyond the reasonable control of the Organiser, including but not limited to: severe weather conditions (storm, lightning, fog, heavy rain, heavy snowfall, extreme temperatures), natural disasters, fires, floods, avalanches, epidemics and pandemics, acts of state or municipal authorities, prohibitions on events, route blockages, actions of third parties, inaccessibility of mountain sections, accidents, and other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Organiser.
Given the open nature of the Events and the specificities of cycling activities, the Organiser reserves the right, at their reasonable discretion and in compliance with applicable legislation:
- to change the route, start/end point, time or format of an Event;
- to shorten, interrupt or postpone an Event;
- in case of danger to the health and safety of participants or in case of force majeure.
In the cases under this point, no refunds, compensation, damages for lost profits or other damages shall be payable, unless otherwise required by applicable law or provided for in Section 6.
4.7 Abuses and violations
The association reserves the right, in compliance with applicable legislation and after reasonable judgment, to refuse entry, withdraw accreditation, or cancel tickets without refund in cases of:
- a breach of applicable legislation or of the Festival's and the relevant Event's rules;
- Breach of safety rules, including refusal to wear a helmet;
- fraudulent, abusive, or suspicious activity;
- unauthorised resale or commercial use of tickets;
- Aggressive, dangerous, or indecent behaviour towards other participants, staff, volunteers, or third parties.
4.8 Pricing and Errors
The organiser reserves the right to correct pricing errors, inaccuracies or omissions, and to cancel or refuse orders made at an incorrect price or due to system errors, even when payment has been processed. In such cases, the amount paid will be fully refunded.
4.9 Sale of Physical Goods (Merchandise)
Through the website, the Association offers for sale physical Goods (t-shirts, hats and other branded items) - independently or in combination with registration for an Event. The following apply to these Goods:
- Description, size, colour and available quantities – as published on the relevant product page. Images are illustrative; minor deviations in colour shade and texture are possible.
- Prices are final, in euros (EUR), excluding VAT (The Association is not registered for VAT).
- Delivery - as per section 5 of these General Terms and Conditions.
- Right of return and refund – in accordance with Section 6 of these General Terms and Conditions and Article 50 of the Consumer Protection Act.
- Guarantee of conformity of goods with the contract - in accordance with Chapter IV of the Consumer Protection Act.
5. Delivery terms
The association offers two types of products, each with a different delivery method:

Electronic ticket delivery
Upon successful completion of an order, the ticket will be automatically sent via email to the address provided at the time of ordering, within 30 minutes from payment confirmation. In most cases, this happens within a few minutes.
The email contains: order number, Participant's name, Event name(s), date and venue, start and/or control instructions (if applicable), on-site check-in instructions.
If you do not receive a confirmation email within 1 hour:
- Check your Spam/Promotions folder;
- contact us at office@banskobikefest.com or on +359 886 115 858, stating your names and the approximate time of the order;
- We will check the payment status with the payment operator and forward the ticket.
Ticket activation (receiving your race number, access wristband, information pack) takes place at Festival reception: „Vazrazhdane“ Square, Bansko town, at the declared times for each edition. Bring your confirmation email (on paper or digital) and identification.
5.2 Delivery of Physical Goods (Merchandise)
The association offers merchandise with One possible method of delivery: personal collection at the Festival reception.

- Collection period the official days and times of operation for the Festival reception, announced on banskobikefest.com for every edition
- Free delivery: There is no charge for personal collection on-site.
At present, the Association No courier delivery offered to an address. This method may be introduced in the future, for which the current Terms and Conditions will be updated.
5.3 Conditions for receipt
Upon receipt of the Goods:
- Please show the order confirmation (email or order number);
- Show identification.;
- The Association may request a signature on a statement or confirmation upon handover for accounting purposes.
5.4 Third-party acquisition
You may authorise another person to collect the Goods on your behalf, provided they present: a printed or electronic order confirmation, their own identification document, a brief written power of attorney (free form) signed by you, or explicit authorisation text forwarded from your email.
5.5 Non-receipt of Goods
If you do not receive the ordered Goods by the end of the Festival, we will contact you via email/phone within 7 days of the end of the Festival. By mutual agreement, we can:
- We will keep the Goods until the next edition of the Festival (if you have already registered).;
- We arrange courier dispatch at your expense (Econt or Speedy), subject to stock availability.;
- we shall refund the amount paid, if the above two are not possible.
If you do not respond within 60 days of the end of the Festival, the Association reserves the right to treat the Goods as unclaimed and to not undertake further actions, unless otherwise required by applicable legislation.
5.6 Delivery Period; Passing of Risk
In accordance with Article 49, paragraph 1 of the Consumer Protection Act, delivery shall be made without undue delay and no later than 30 days from the conclusion of the contract, unless the parties have agreed on another deadline. As the Goods are collected on-site during the Festival, the parties agree that The deadline for performance is the date of the relevant edition of the Festival., as indicated on the website at the time of the order.
The risk of accidental loss of or damage to the Goods transfers to the Customer at the moment of their physical receipt at the Festival reception.
If the Association cannot deliver the Goods within the agreed timeframe, it will notify you immediately and offer: an extended deadline, a replacement with another available product, or a full refund of the amount paid.
5.7 Check on receipt
Upon receipt of the Goods, please check the contents of the order on-site (number of items, models), size and colour of each item, and the visible condition of the goods for damage. If any discrepancies are found, please inform the receptionist immediately. This does not limit your rights under section 6.
6. Cancellations, Returns, Refusals and Refunds
This section governs the terms for cancellation, returns, and refunds. The two types of products have different legal regime:

6.1 Event Tickets – No Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with Article 57, item 12 of the Consumer Protection Act, the right to withdraw from a distance contract does not apply to leisure services where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance. Tickets for Festival Events fall into this category, therefore after a successful purchase the tickets are not subject to cancellation or refund upon the Client's request, except in the cases referred to in points 6.2 and 6.3.
6.2 Tickets - Limited refund exceptions
A refund for the ticket may be provided in the following circumstances:
- duplicate or erroneous transactions;
- Technical issue due to which the ticket was not delivered/issued;
- situations where restitution is mandatory by virtue of mandatory provisions.
Procedure:
- submit a request in writing to office@banskobikefest.com;
- by 7 calendar days from the transaction date;
- Please provide the order number, names and email used for the purchase;
- Please provide proof (e.g. a screenshot of a bank statement, email confirmation, etc.).
Approved refunds are processed within Up to 14 working days and are repaid by the original method of payment. The Association reserves the right to deduct applicable administrative, transactional, or processing fees from approved refunds, unless prohibited by applicable law.
6.3 Tickets - full cancellation by the Association
In the event that the Association cancels the Festival or a specific Event in its entirety before its commencement due to reasons other than force majeure, the Client may be entitled, subject to applicable legislation, to:
- reimbursement of the purchase price; or
- credit, valid for the next edition of the Festival.
Upon cancellation due to force majeure The organiser will offer credit for a future edition, insofar as this does not contradict mandatory provisions. No further compensation, damages, or reimbursement of expenses (including travel, accommodation and equipment) shall be due, unless applicable legislation requires otherwise.
6.4 Tickets - non-refundable if unused
Refunds will not be issued for: unused or partially used tickets; non-attendance, lateness, or failure to start; disqualification from an Event due to violation of safety or conduct rules; voluntary withdrawal from participation, injury, or change in Participant's personal circumstances; inability to complete a course within the announced cut-off times.
6.5 Physical Goods (Merchandise) - 14-day right of withdrawal
As a consumer within the meaning of the Consumer Protection Act, you have the right to Cancel the contract within 14 calendar days from the date you received the Goods, without owing compensation or penalty and without giving a reason (Art. 50 of the Consumer Protection Act).
Calculation of the 14-day period The period begins to run from the date on which you or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier) receive the Goods; in case of an order for several items delivered separately, from the date of receipt of the last one. The period shall be deemed to have been observed if you send your notice of withdrawal before its expiry.

- Personally: at the Festival reception, if you exercise your right during the Festival
In the message, please state: names, address and phone number; order number; description of the Goods for which you are exercising the right of withdrawal; date of receipt; preferred method of refund.
You may use the standard refusal form, available as an appendix to these Terms and Conditions at the end of the document.
6.6 Returns of Goods
By the deadline 14 calendar days from notifying us of the cancellation, send or return the Goods to:
- Return address: Association „Bansko Bike Fest“, Bansko (2770), 2 „Stagite“ Street
- or at the Festival reception (Vazrazhdane Square, Bansko), if it is within the days of the event.
Returns policy
- The goods must be in its original appearance and packaging;
- The goods must not have been used, worn, washed, damaged, or rendered unfit for resale;
- The labels must be intact and attached;
- It is desirable to attach a copy of the receipt or electronic invoice.
The direct costs of returning the Goods are borne by the Customer. (Art. 55, para. 2 of the Consumer Protection Act). No charges are incurred if returned to the Festival reception on site.
6.7 Merchandise refund
The association will restore all payments received by you for the respective Goods by 14 calendar days from the date on which we were notified of your refusal decision.
- Refunds are processed using the same payment method used for the purchase (via myPOS, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.
- There are no additional fees for the refund itself.
- The Association has the right to withhold reimbursement until it has received the returned Goods or until the Customer has provided proof of sending them, whichever is the earlier (Art. 55, para. 3 of the Consumer Protection Act).
- The time taken to reflect the refund may vary depending on your bank, typically between 3 and 10 working days after the transfer has been made by us.
6.8 Reduced value
The customer is solely responsible for any diminished value of the Goods resulting from handling them in a manner beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and proper functioning (Article 55, Paragraph 4 of the Consumer Protection Act). If the Goods are returned in a condition unsuitable for resale, the Association has the right to deduct the corresponding reduced value from the refunded amount.
6.9 Exceptions to the right of withdrawal for Goods
The right of withdrawal does not apply to Goods which, according to art. 57 of the CPA, are: made to the consumer's order or according to their individual requirements (e.g. a T-shirt with a personal name/number ordered by a specific Customer); sealed, which have been unsealed after delivery and cannot be returned due to hygiene reasons.
Standard merchandise (standard festival sizes and designs) Don't get caught. subject to these exceptions and repayable.
6.10 Defective or Non-Conforming Goods
Irrespective of the right of withdrawal under Article 50 of the Consumer Protection Act, if the Goods delivered are defective or not in conformity with the contract, the Customer has additional rights under Chapter IV of the Consumer Protection Act.
- Free repair or replacement of Goods;
- if repair or replacement is not possible or proportionate – a price reduction or cancellation of the contract and reimbursement of the full amount.
The deadline for non-conformity notification is 2 hours from the date of receipt (Art. 33 CPA). To exercise these rights, please contact us at office@banskobikefest.com, attaching photos and a brief description of the problem.
6.11 Replacement
The association may offer an exchange (e.g. a different size) if alternative stock is available, subject to the following conditions: the request is submitted within 14 days of receipt; the goods are in their original condition with intact labels; any price difference (if applicable) is paid additionally or refunded. An exchange does not negate your right of withdrawal under clause 6.5.
6.12 What is NOT refundable
- Goods used/washed/damaged beyond normal use to establish their characteristics;
- Stock returned after the 14-day period without an objective reason;
- Custom-made tops with a personal name/number.;
- Uncollected Goods, for which the Customer has not appeared for collection and has not responded to the Association's calls (see section 5.5);
- Tickets for events outside the hypotheses of points 6.2 and 6.3.
6.13 Alternative Compensation
In compliance with applicable legislation and acting reasonably, the Association may, instead of a monetary refund, offer alternative solutions, including: a replacement ticket for another Event within the same Festival; a credit for a future edition of the Festival; an extension of validity. Such alternatives constitute a full and final settlement of any claims, subject to the express consent of the Customer.
7. Behaviour, Safety and Participation Rules
7.1 Mandatory Equipment
Wearing a helmet is compulsory at all Events, without exception. Participants without a helmet will not be allowed to start; if such a situation is discovered during the Event, the participant will be disqualified without a refund.
We also recommend: gloves, sportswear suitable for mountain/road conditions, glasses, reflective elements (for road and gourmet tours), water, and energy food.
7.2 Bicycle Fitness
Participants are obliged to appear at the start with a bicycle in technical working order, suitable for the respective type of Event (road, MTB, gravel, E-MTB). The Association is not responsible for technical malfunctions of participants' bicycles and equipment. Mobile service may be offered on-site for a fee, subject to availability.
7.3 Adherence to Rules and Guidelines
Participants are required to:
- follow the instructions of staff, volunteers, guides, marshals and law enforcement agencies;
- adhere to the announced routes, time controls and start/finish zones;
- adhere to the road traffic regulations (Road Traffic Act) during the Road, Gourmet and Gravel tours;
- adhere to the rules of Pirin National Park and other protected areas through which the routes pass;
- do not pollute the route and do not leave waste in nature.
7.4 Alcohol and Drugs
The consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances before and during participation in an Event is prohibited. The Organiser reserves the right to remove without refund any participant who is reasonably suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or other substances that could jeopardise their own or others' safety.
7.5 Right to refuse access
The organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove any participant who breaches these General Terms and Conditions, the rules of the specific Event, exhibits aggressive, dangerous or offensive behaviour, or endangers the safety of others, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
8. Health and Safety Declaration, Risk, and Responsibility
8.1 Self-assessment and health status
By registering for the Event, the participant declares that:
- is in good general health and physical condition, suitable for the type of cycling activity;
- not suffer from any disease or condition that could be aggravated by physical exertion, altitude or open spaces;
- has assessed their own capabilities against the advertised length, elevation gain, cut-off times, and nature of the route;
- participates voluntarily and at his own risk.
If in doubt, the participant should consult a doctor before participating.
8.2 Accepting the Specific Risks of Cycling
Cycling activities, particularly in mountainous and road conditions, carry inherent risks, including but not limited to: falls, injuries, collisions with other participants or vehicles, technical malfunctions, adverse weather conditions, exhaustion, dehydration, encounters with wild animals. By accepting these General Terms and Conditions, the participant expressly confirms that they understand and voluntarily accept these risks.
8.3 Insurance
All participants are advised to have valid personal accident and/or health insurance that covers cycling activities. The organiser may, at their discretion, provide an overarching insurance for a specific Event; if such insurance is provided, its scope and terms will be published in the Event description. The insurance recommended for participants is not waived even if overarching insurance is provided.
8.4 Limitation of Liability
The association makes reasonable efforts to organise safe Events and comply with quality standards, but is not responsible for damages caused by:
- misuse of a bicycle or equipment;
- failure to comply with safety regulations, staff instructions, or the Road Traffic Act;
- Technical malfunctions of the participant's bicycle;
- the participant's own gross negligence;
- Force majeure (see section 4.6).
The Association's liability, to the extent permitted by law, is limited to the value of the ticket purchased by the respective participant for the specific Event. This clause does not limit liability for wilful damage or gross negligence on the part of the Association to the extent that such limitation is not permissible under mandatory provisions.
9. Personal data
The association processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the Personal Data Protection Act, and Privacy policy, published on the website.
10. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
The present General Terms and Conditions are governed by Bulgarian legislation. Any disputes arising from or in connection with them shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent court in the Republic of Bulgaria, unless mandatory EU regulations provide otherwise.
11. Alternative dispute resolution
As a user, you have the right to take a dispute to:

12. Children, age and accompanying persons
- Access to individual Events may be subject to age restrictions, as announced in the description of each Event on banskobikefest.com.
- Children's events are held for children within the announced age range and under the supervision of facilitators and volunteers engaged by the Organiser, but Responsibility for the child remains with the parent/guardian. at all times. A parent/guardian must be present on-site during the children's Events.
- Registration of a person under 18 years of age is carried out by a parent or guardian, who by accepting these General Terms and Conditions declares consent for the child's participation, confirms that the child is in a suitable health condition and accepts the risks specified in section 8.
- When minors participate in Adult Events (e.g. Cycle rallies, road and gravel tours), explicit written consent from a parent/guardian and accompaniment according to the rules of the specific Event are required.
13. Photos, videos and advertisements
By participating in the Festival Events, participants accept that the Organiser and persons authorised by them (photographers, videographers, media partners) may take photographs and make video recordings for organisational, informational, reporting and advertising purposes, including for publication on social networks, the website, in press materials, and in communications with Festival partners and sponsors.
If you do not wish to be photographed or published in a way that clearly identifies you, please inform the Festival reception staff in advance or write to us at office@banskobikefest.com.
14. Final provisions and contact
The association may amend these Terms and Conditions by updating this page. banskobikefest.com. The updated terms and conditions enter into force upon their publication, unless otherwise specified. For tickets and merchandise already purchased, the terms and conditions in force at the time of purchase shall apply, except where the changes are in favour of the Customer or result from mandatory legal provisions.
If any clause of these General Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining clauses shall remain in full force and effect.
